You've really put some elbow grease into that. It really looks good!

This weekend, I'm replacing the strobe power supply and red flasher unit. I'm also replacing my Nav lights for another type of standard bulb that will use 1/10th the amperage.

After that, I might even fly the old bird

The bottom pic in the above set shows the "Hat Shelf" removed. Good move in my opinion. The damn thing always used to be in the way for me. It looks like now would be the perfect time to install a baggage door. That was one of the best mods I ever did. I used to haul my camping gear most of the time and I never carried the rear seat. The baggage door was the perfect answer to loading my cooler which was about the last thing to go on when leaving on a trip.

As I flew my first 170 without a headliner for 8 years, I spent many hours looking at the glue remnants on the ceiling and side panels. All the while trying to decide if coming in contact and breathing chemicals known to cause cancer to mice in the state of California. Of course I wasn't in the state of California and I'm not a mouse but I never did figure out a safe, let alone a half safe way to go about doing it and it never got done.

I imagine after removing the bulk of the material, mouse or otherwise your using a Scotch brite pad soaked with MEK to dissolve the glue. Then I imagine more MEK on a rag to wipe it clean.

So how are you doing this job? How are you being safe (breathing) while doing it?

Looks nice, just what I imagined my plane would have looked like.
