George, all they need is precision guidance that worked. Normal policy at Asiana is full automation landing. The only time it is not permitted is when precision guidance is not available. Hence the SFO incident.gahorn wrote:Never say never.canav8 wrote:...

Cleo Bickford, past Historian, Charter TIC170A Member, and former B-17 Radio/Navigator, now (sadly) Gone West..., once reminisced about it's 5 generators, 5 batteries (24V), supporting 5 engines.....all on 60 psi tires designed for grass strips.
No wonder the former aeronautical-engineer-type loved it.

Re: Photo Album
Miles, I purchased C-FINE last year from Glenn Dowd at Glenboro, Manitoba. It was imported from the US in 1987 by a Gentleman named Peterson and based in Vancouver for a number of years. Darryl Golbert from Portage la Prarie, Manitoba owned it for quite a number of years. There was an owner between Darryl and Glenn when it was again based in B C I believe.

That is a FINE registration number!
(There is a brand-B airplane with the registration N1CE ...which is cool also.)

Re: Photo Album
OK I know who it was now. I think he spelled his name Pedersen, first name John. He and his wife were very active in the Association for quite a few years. I'm sure some of the long-time members like Eddie B. and Ron M. will remember them. It's good to see that the airplane has been well taken care of over the years!crwrpmr wrote:Miles, I purchased C-FINE last year from Glenn Dowd at Glenboro, Manitoba.
