Jim,

I'm certainly not qualified to do a pre-buy inspection, nor do I know anyone up that way who is, but I plan on going up to Columbia Oct. 7 & 8. It's not that much further up to Grass Valley if you'd like me to take a look at the plane, and maybe get a few digital photos.

I'm based at Grass Valley (KGOO). Give me a call or e-mail and I'll see what kind of information I can get for you. I didn't realize there was a -170 for sale at Grass Valley. Is it a project or in flying condition?

:D :D :D Bruce, Miles, Mike and Robert...

Thanks for the offer to help. No Bruce, I am not getting into another project....Lolly would have a fit. What I am doing is helping an Airforce friend in California purchase his first airplane. He's a TOP GUN pilot, but wants to have a real airplane for fun. However, he's gun shy of taildraggers and is looking at Brand B...... 8O He has located one he has fallen for and needs assistance in making sure it is OK. So.......Mike he may call you and ask for further assistance. And Robert, I also gave him David Ormond's phone number.

8) Sure love the help provided by this website. Jim W

Jim W - I'm getting a little impatient waiting to see a picture of your freshly (May) painted plane. If your not set up with a webpage, send it to my email and I'll post it.

Inspection

Dave at Lincoln Skyways is a good guy and very thorough on this type of thing and not far from Grass Valley. If there are any concerns he will not be shy about pointing them out. 916-645-3449 is there number. They have done good work on my plane and are never shy about pointing out "concerns".
