L-19 Tailwheel structure

Post by minton »

Is it worth the trouble to put L-19 tailwheel support structure on a C-170B that lives in Alaska?? Are there STC's for that installation??

To what "support structure" are you referring? The 170B's subsequent to 20805 already share the same tailwheel bracket, etc. The only significant difference is the main leafspring itself, which on the L-19 is slightly stiffer/heavier to accomodate a heavier aircraft. (Unnecessary/undesireable on a 170, IMHO.)
All models 170 previous to 20806 are eligible for the later (so-called "fish-mouth") bracket via Service Kit SK 70A52-4.
