Wanted rt lift strut for a 1948 170,, rag wing

Post by edgar3rd »

Does any one have a extra rt metal lift strut for a 1948 rag wing?,, They would part with? Or does anyone know  who would have one? I think the Left and Rt are the same and interchangable , or maybe a damaged lift strut one I could get repaired for sale.

Thanks,, bill

LEFT OR RIGHT

I HAVE ONE BUT YOU NEED TO FIND OUT IF LEFT AND RIGHT ARE THE SAME. I DO NOT HAVE A CLUE! IF THEY ARE LET ME KNOW AND WE WILL HAGGLE. I DO KNOW THAT THE LITTLE "JURY" BRACES PROBABLY ONLY FIT ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER (NOT TYPICAL). I THINK THE (VERY THIN METAL) STRAP THAT ENCIRCLES THE STRUT IS BROKEN.

My lift struts were the same. I know because we lost the tag on one indicating which side it came off during restoration. no amount of looking could find any difference. Was A little concered but plane flies fine. Bill K.
