If ya'll will allow me to add a comment. Don't land into the sun if you don't have to. Sounds simple but you would be amazed at how often you are trapped into it. Example, light winds out of the west all day so the pattern at your local UNCONTROLLED field has been using 27. BUT in the evening the winds will die down and everyone will continue to use 27. Turn the pattern around. Get on the radio and suggest to everyone to switch to 09. Usually you and maybe one other are in the pattern so it is no big deal. If there are 8 guys in the pattern it may not be so easy but all I am suggesting is don't be a leming. Don't land into the sun if you don't have to. Light winds, ask the tower for a different runway. I live at an airport, pretty busy one at that with about 350 small GA aircraft based here, and I see people land into the sun for no reason all the time, just because thats what they were doing earlier. Turn it around.

IMOH, YMMV, 2 Cents, etc.
