TIC170A 2023 Christmas Party
Posted: Mon Dec 11, 2023 7:23 pm
Members and guests of TIC170A gathered in Bryan Texas the 8th, 9th & 10th of December 2023 for our annual Christmas party.
It was a wonderful weekend of fun and fellowship, thanks to everyone that was able to attend. Each individual present contributed in some way to the enjoyment we all experienced. However, we must recognize a few who went the extra mile to ensure the success of the weekend, either during the planning and organizing, which started several months prior, or during the event itself. I am sorry if I leave someone out and each one probably did more than mentioned.
Jeane McGown setup reservations at some nice restaurants for us to eat and arranged for a very nice location for our gift exchange and desserts Saturday night.
Sheila Wyborny arranged for a block of rooms at a reduced rate for our rest in Bryan, as well as researching available activities, arranging our itinerary and printing them out for us, with addresses for each event.
Nancy Towle organized a crafts class, bringing all the material and provided instruction to make snowman lamps.
Debra Wood was a beautiful elf who provided a reading of a "Texas Night Before Christmas".
Naomi's Daughter PJ Jones provided and arranged all of the table and room decorations for our Saturday evening gift exchange and desserts, which included everyone having their own Christmas hat and a jar of pralines.
Kathleen Schreier provided beautiful soft piano music through the evening of exchanging gifts.
Some were not able to spend the whole weekend, but we were glad they shared what they could with us. Also some who were planning to attend were not able to do so due to sickness. We hope they have recovered well and quickly.
The Cessna 170 Christmas party just happens to take place in Texas, but we welcome all TIC170A members and their guests. This year we were excited about having a great turnout of members, from Alaska, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana and Oklahoma. We overheard someone comment that it was like a mini convention.
We hope more can attend next year.
We apologize for failing to get a group picture during the weekend, so some individuals do not appear in the pictures, but there were 36 people attending and they were:
George & Jamie Horn, Jeane McGown, Bob & Patricia Jolly, Gary & Deana Hanson, David & Jan Stokes, Rick & Cheryl Schikora, Peter & Judi Coffey, Paul & Debra Wood, Jim & Kathleen Schreier, Scott & Ann Barland, Bo & Rose Jensen, Jim & Lolly Wildharbor, Karl & Nancy Towle, Jim Yates, Dale & Hilda Cuthbertson, Steve Grimsley, PJ Jones, Darryl Schiller, Charlie & Beverly Ross, Mike McGown, Naomi Goodlett and Ken Peck.
We wish everyone a blessed, prosperous and safe 2024. Please try to burn all the avgas you can.
