It is NOT true as long as the existing crankshaft passes inspection. If it doesn't pass inspection, you have to find a serviceable replacement (getting VERY difficult as time marches on), or purchase an IO-360 (Contintntal of course) crankshaft which is dimensionally identical to the C-145/O-300 crankshafts except that the front end has to be plugged to run a fixed pitch prop, and that it has a 6-bolt flange instead of the earlier models' 8-bolt flange. (IIRC, O-300C and later engines already have 6-bolt crankshafts.)butchpilot170 wrote:Hey thx Bagarre ! Maybe something will come along !
