Hi All,
In process of purchasing 170B. Had a B model years ago (2434D). What is a good source for the 170B POH...could not find anything 'free' on internet.

Re: 170B POH
Jim, since you owned a 170 before, I assume you are referring to the 80 page (or so) Owners Manual rather than the 2 page Flight Manual. You may be able to find a free pdf copy of an owner's manual on the internet by Googling it, but it won't necessarily be specific to your model year. This association has pdf copies of the owner's manuals by model year that you can download for free if you are a member. (So they are semi-free). But if you join, you get the full benefits of membership, including access to all of the other goodies in the maintenance library. I bought my 170B two years ago and membership has been well worth it. My best investment for my plane.

Re: 170B POH
Yes folks, I drifted away from the 170 family. In the many passing years owned and restored 2 Stinson 108's (I'm a slow learner) , a 120, a 140 and had the 170 (the only one not needing major worked while owned BTW). Also had a 1968 Cardinal with 150 HP...flew that all over the country...it had some shortcomings but overall a good ship. Currently looking at 170B with O-300B in in...looks to be an OK bird with solid axles, good compressions ( at least for an O-300), minimal leaks at push rods tubes and out the breather....single piece windscreen, good paint/interior, basic panel (stock, not hacked up). If all goes well with pre-buy inspection and negotiations I should be proud owner and in position to become a member again...it will good to be home. BTW, for you old timers...remember Tom Hull ? He had a 170 and 195 and was very active in the association. I had my 170 based at his grass strip at York, PA...did a lot of work with him on both the birds...good memories, great guy...missed. Thanks much for the info on the POH. Jim
Re: 170B POH
Yes, Tom Hull was a well-respected man.
The "POH" as already mentioned, does not exist for the 170, however a good hard copy of the Owners Manual (which is doubtless what you intend) is available from Univair and Spruce for about $15.
