Actually...it can't exceed 550 pounds by scale.

Technically, it can't exceed 55 pounds (according to AMA regulations, larger aircraft must be inspected and issued a waiver), but I don't think this airplane will be much over 22 pounds.

If necessary you can always get an STC to increase the gross weight :D Those mininiture characters may be too big or heavy for your project. I didn't know such was available. Seems there are no limits to what can be purchased these days. Looking forward to continued progress photos, etc.

No tiny brass tubing to braze into seat frames?

That cub is something else! I never really enjoyed building out of balsa but I could get into making that fuselage!
But, at that point why not just weld up a Sonerai fuselage? It' s probably not that much bigger.

27% length times 27% width times 27% height = 1.97% volume = 1.97% weight

For wing area, 27% span times 27% chord = 7.29% area. This is part of "economy of scale"; wing loading is only 27% of full scale.

I think we better find Arayna a follow up project so when this one is complete he will have something to do. Otherwise, with all that spare time, his wife may run him out of the house or worse still find a bunch of honey do's :lol:

I can't remember, are you going to have seat & shoulder belts? You may have done so, but it would have been cool to have done a video on all these steps you have taken. You might market same to the kit mfg or others. Could do so even with the photos. I am sure there are lots of folks outside of our assn that would be interested in seeing what you have accomplished.

Yes. A "big" industry indeed. I'm considering working a deal with the city to lease land and build a hangar so I can offer structural repair services for these aircraft. I'm trying to convince them that everything should be 27% of the regular cost per sq ft. I think that is as likely to happen as me talking the guys in to working at 27% regular wages. :lol:

It is a small world. I do the annual inspections 0n the Menzs Globe Swift mentioned in the link you posted of which he built an electric scale model of. He also built a Top Flight Corsair a model which I have been working off and on for years. Dave is a prolific builder, Being as he has one in collage and two others in school and is also building a full scale Steen Sky Bolt it's a wonder he has the time.
On another Model aircraft story I observed the first "official" flight on a rainy afternoon yesterday of the replica Douglas World Cruiser. Links to the world cruiser project and the Wiki Article concerning the subject aircraft below. Bobs World Cruiser project is indeed a full scale model including the Liberty engine with which he intends to fly around the world in a commemorative flight.
Tom Imrich the (Test) pilot had actually flown the airplane in his words five or six times over the last few weeks before its official first flight was flown in front of a huge crowd at the Museum of Flight in Seattle yesterday.
