A reeallyfine looking restoration. Congratulations. Ugliest goddamn spinner I've ever seen on a C=170. A skull cap type would look a hellova lot better. (IMNSHO!)

I was wondering about the approval of the exhaust...they don't look like Bartone's (which have a downward turn at the ends). Field Approval?

They came direct from the man with paper work for the STC.

you find me a dome type cap for a 0-300-D, with the 6 bolt small diameter flange I'll use it.

That's good news! (The last I'd heard there was no hope for an STC. Bartone didn't have one and Benham's paperwork was incomplete.)

The skull cap dome that I had did not have anything other than a sheet metal bracket running between two prop bolts with a plate nut for a center screw through the dome.

That's true and it fit the big flanged 8 bolt hub of the prop. the 0-300-D has a small hub and a 6 bolt flange. the dome from a 0-300-A is too big by about 1/2" all around.

I agree with Dick's assessment. Beautiful restoration, ugly spinner. Aircraft Spruce has 5" domes. See here also.
