Something for George

Post by akclimber »

I figured you'd get a kick out of this craigslist ad for a 170:

"Awsome plane
Never wrecked nothing more then bouncy landings,
1953 cessna 170b 11,000 tt
0-300 3500smoh, port an polish, with nitrous kit for bush strip take offs.
88" climb prop cruises at 75 but will get you off the ground in 100 feet or less depending on how long you hold the nitrous button.
8.50 tires
55 gallon drum in back seat that's removable and custom plumbed in for extra long range tank if needed.
Sportsman stol kit helps when hanging her on the prop at 25kts,
180 gear legs p ponk kit works well when over grossed and bouncy landings hasn't failed yet.
Double pucker brakes work well.
Home made wood skis with alum tail ski
New interior new instruments good paint
Good glass, comes with ripped wing covers an old oily engine cover, new tail covers.
Comes with garmin 510 and Bose headsets
Last annual June 1989 but will sell with a fresh one ,
I am the 15th owner have all log books an all the other stuff needed.
This is a good plane needs nothing
I'm a 150 hour student and can't learn to fly it . The owner before said it flys good 500 over gross.
Need to sell ASAP or trade for cessna 185 with io550
$18,000 Obo "

And no, it's not mine.

Geez, John, I never thought of that! What did they say the tail number was? It sure sounded like a neat airplane to me.

I see that the ad has been deleted. Do you suppose that some lucky guy bought it? Watch for a new member!
