I soda blasted my bird and was pretty happy with it. It is a mess but it leaves a great surface to paint. Shop vac and garden hose and shop vac and hose and shop vac and blow gun and hose and vac and.......took a while but I HATE chemical stripper so I'm glad I did it.

Thanks to you I'm about to remove my rudder pedals for powder coat. Sooo unnecessary, but every time I look at my rudder pedals after seeing the pictures of yours it kills me.

Have you ever thought about lightly sanblasting the rudder pedals? It really looks good and can be redone when needed, and it's fast and cheap!

That 180 is looking great! You really have an eye for making great looking utility configurations. Please pass on what it weighs, my 1958 180A with the P-Ponk O-520 and all the other heavy performance stuff and comfortable interior weighs 1750lb empty (and still has 1200lb useful). Hopefully your's will be significantly less. Great job so far!

Those 10" Bushwheels should be perfect, I have 1986 vintage 10" wheel adapters with 8.50-10 tires and would not change them for anything. I tried the 29-11x10 tires but found them too "grabby" for me on pavement, the 8.50-10 tires handle just like 8.50-6s but have much better footprint. they don't slow the speed down like the bigger tires either.

I don't believe that is correct. FAA does not dictate the color of interior or instrument lighting. (The original was RED.)

I know its probably not possible George... but your wrong. Only the "aviation white" UMA lights are FAA/PMA'd.

Actually I think George is correct. I have white light, green light and have had red light in certified aircraft. UMA only bothered to get a PMA for their white. And so if you want UMA and you want a PMA you have to use white.
