Flying Into Petit Jean

Post by gparker »

May have the opportunity to go to Petit Jean soon. Does anyone know if the Lodge reopened? Is there a way other than walking to get to the Lodge from the airport?

Also, other than Gaston's and Petit Jean, are there any other places in northwest Arkansas or southern Missouri that I need to see? Will be based out of Eureka Springs for several days.

Thanks,
Greg

Queen Wilhelmina lodge, Mena.
As for your questions about Petit Jean....why don't you call them directly?

Mountain View is a fun little town. There is the Ozark Folk Center with music shows, free music nightly on the town square, at least two music shows, and trout fishing on the White River. There are numerous motels and B&Bs. There are also fishing resorts like Jack's located north of town on the White. The last time I was there about 5 years ago there was a courtesy car at the airport, but you had better call ahead. It would be a couple of miles hike to town.

So far looks like lunch at Gaston's and Petit Jean, may try Mountain View too. Is that where the folk center is?

Hey come to Petit Jean Mtn this week - park by the two 170's on the lake end. Scott & Ginger flew in yesterday and are camping at the Airport Campground. Mather's Lodge Restaurant has been remodeled and they picked up a very good local cook - big improvement in atmosphere, food, & service. We'll be there all week - Dave 479-857-1192.

Arkansas Dave,

We miss both Petit Jean and having a plane very much. Wish we could be there.

I know :) Our last child (Dakota 6'3", 240 lbs) is a senior in high school, so hopefully we'll get back on track in the near future. We're actually grandparents (Tryston had a girl), as of about 6 months ago. Wondering if Fall Weather would be better than Spring Weather.

Party has moved to Gastons. Scott & Ginger have a cabin until Sunday morning.
They'll be on the river trout fishing, golfing, and also have a pontoon boat rented for a day on Bull Shoals.

Might have a couple more 170's coming through Petit Jean & Gastons towards the end of the week - one of em might not know it yet though :D

Gastons is famous for a Sunday Brunch - come on up, down, or over, would love to see more 170 folks.

Well it's a party now - Gar & Deanna came in tonight! :D
We'll all be meeting at the Folk Center, in Mt View, around Saturday noon. Some kind of music festival going on.
