$110,000 170

Post by 170C »

Certainly one can put any price on a plane that he wishes to do so, but if he thinks his plane's market value is $110K, I have some stuff around here I would be happy to sell him :!: Who knows, there may be someone out there with no clue to aircraft values who see's this plane and thinks he just has to have it an if so he might pay that super inflated price. Good deal for the optimistic seller. Now, what what it that P T Barnum said

I like the idea! Wish everyone selling a 170 would start asking a lot more. There are not making them anymore. Like George said, I'm convinced all 170's are underpriced and I would not sell mine for what I have it insured for. I have put a lot of money in my plane to get it like I want it. I would hope to get most of it back if I or my hiers sold it.

Well It could be a typo?

But then on the other hand I just helped a customers finish a two year rebuild -re-furbish. He did pay me full shop prices. The out come, A 1963 172 $120,000 and one GNS 430 GPS Com, new paint new rebuilt engine 0-300D baffling, new brakes wheels and tires, and every thing else removed cleaned repaired, new strobe lights and BAS inertia real harness's both front seats. all ne wiring. And he does not have an interior yet. But he and his family are proud. Professional aviator, Lead Boeing 777 flight test Pilot. Could he sell it for that, Never.

But I agree with George all of out planes are under valued. If you don't believe me try to have one repaired after a ground loop for what you have it insured for.

From the pictures it doesn't look like anything special to me. I agree that he probably doesn't really want to sell it, but would at the right price.

I just emailed this guy for details and this airplane is on new Wipline 2100 floats and of course has a like new Lyc. O-360. But he also wants fully what he has in it so he is dreaming a bit. It did look like a nice airplane though. I just looked at C-180's this week and I can buy a decent one on on Edo 2870's and Fluidyne C3000 hyd wheel skis for $95,000

A good friend of mine SOLD his '54 B model with Edo 2000 floats, Gar Aero wheels, and Landes 2500 skis, with a 100 SMOH Lyc O-360 for $90,000 last summer. He had over $115,000 in it too and was asking $95,000 initially.

Sounds like my dream plane. i was on the supercub sight last night, and by golly those guys are REALLY proud of their birds. I had better just focus on building hours in my cheap-o 54b before i get too far ahead of myself. although i sure would like floats, skiis and an 80-42 prop!! Honey, pleeeassee.....
