How long does the FAA usually take to process registrations?

Post by scsmith42 »

I recently purchased a 170. It's been over a month since I mailed the FAA the bill of sale, registration application and old registration from the plane. Have not seen anything back yet - any ideas what the normal processing time is?

Thanks.

Well, I feel better now! I was beginning to think that it had gotten lost in the mail. Thx.

Please keep in mind that when the "In " basket on a bureaucrats desk is full, that is JOB SECURITY.

Mine took four months but I had to make a correction to the application before they would issue the registration. I used a P.O. Box as an address and didn't give them a physical address to start with.
