Good tip about the magnet. But I didn't have too much trouble capturing the keepers after removal- in fact, one fell to the floor but was an easy find.
What was tricky was putting the keepers back in place- even with another guy helping me. I think we put some grease on the keeper halves so they would kinda stick in place. You definitely want to be sure they're in there right!!

your lucky you didnt buy the valve compressor at convention i did dosnt work on our engines had just built a compressor that kinda worked on a o-470 just before convention but wanted a good tool (missed that one) my home built worked well on a-300,
