Factory Photos

Post by C170BDan »

A couple years ago I ordered some brochures and photos from Cessna and can't seem to find the contact information that I used. It was great fun to receive a copy of the 1956 brochure for my 170! Anyone have that contact information?

Also was it someone within the association that has copies of the factory photos? I would like to obtain copies of the photos that Cessna used in their advertisements.

Thanks in advance...

I have a promotional photo of a 1956 model, N3420D, a two-tone paint scheme over polished aluminum with plain wheel streamlines and small tailwheel. (This is the best photo to demonstrate that wheel pants were mounted parallel to the ground, not the fuselage.) I'm emailing it to your AOL address.

I am having my 1950 A model painted. I have sent the paint shop pictures of a paint scheme I wanted. They said the pictures would be enough to use to create the scheme. However, they have made some mistakes. At this time I am not sure what they will do to correct the errors. But if they ask for blue prints at this late date in order to gain leverage in their position I would like to have some. So I am looking for blue prints. WHERE DO I START

Photos and Drawings

Post by C170BDan »

Thanks for the picture George... this is one of the ones I do have. In my collection I have that ground shot of the 56, a ground shot of the 55 and an air-to-air of a 54. Hope to find air-to-airs of the 56 like in their magazine ads. Then maybe photos of the other year models just to have in my files. Love tha shot of N3420D because it looks just like my 170 except for the wheel pants!

Curtiss.... when we find who at Cessna to contact that should be where we can find photos and drawings! Just might have to make some phone calls to Cessna.

tech pubs

Post by C170BDan »

Thanks Joe... I made a few phone calls yesterday and came up with that same number. They put my name on a list to receive the newsest tech pubs catalog that will come out in a couple weeks.
