Relocation Well Underway
We arrived in Michigan on June 30, so I guess it's about time to update my profile....
For those who don't follow Facebook: We had pretty much settled on Howell as a place to concentrate our search for a house, so we got a short-term lease on an apartment there. Last Saturday Karen and I noticed that Brighton Airport (45G for you, Dick Lemmon ), about 10 miles east of Howell, has a breakfast every Satuday morning. We got there too late for breakfast, but did introduce ourselves around as newcromers to the area. Within 5 minutes we were introduced to a gentleman who was about to put his house with attached hangar on the market the following weekend. Less than 5 minutes after that we were following him over to take a look. Long story short, we came to terms on Wednesday afternoon and by September we should have an address on Airport Lane!

Miles, looking at the satellite images on Google it looks like a great location and nice airport. Congrats. I notice GM has the Auto Proving Grounds just east of your location, perhaps they will let you do some high speed taxi test on your RV when it's ready.

Congratulations Miles and Karen! That looks like a very nice area, especially having a house on the airport. When I was a kid, we lived in Rochester Hills just east of Pontiac for two years. Good memories.

Pretty awesome timing there Miles. Not sure that could have worked out any better for ya.
There is sure a lot of pools in that area. I didn't realize Michigan stayed warm long enough to justify a pool.

Justin, I put pools in the same category with wire wheels: they are nice as long as they belong to someone else. South Florida doesn't stay warm enough long enough to justify a pool that I would have to maintain...

So, what's your status? They have a great fly-in at Brighton Aug 8th. We may not make it due to other requirements, but will look for you if we do.

Re: Relocation Well Underway
Hi Bruce,
We close on the house in a few weeks, but won't move In until late September (moving costs go down 20% after mid September). We spent yesterday morning helping get the Brighton Airport clubhouse and yard cleaned up for the fly-in next weekend. We'll definitely be there.
We are headed up north to Lewiston this morning for a few days to visit some friends of Karen's family, but if you're out "warming the oil" in your 170 sometime after mid week, I wouldn't mind tagging along.
