Swan song

Post by ghostflyer »

Last night I endured a chuck Norris TV show and it showed a Cessna 170B landing in a main street of a town . On close inspection the aircraft had a 210hp continental engine and no left hand door .it also had the words Swan Song on the cowling . So does anybody know about the aircraft and is it a club member who owns it. I think this show could have been made in about 1985 going by the model of the cars in it. Good production camera angles made it out to be very STOL capable. Shame about the story line and poor acting.

Ps. Did superman die ? He seems he took over .

David, here are a couple of threads discussing it:

It's in a Walker Texas Ranger episode. If anyone has not seen it, here's a You Tube link to just that scene:

I guess you need to wear goggles when you upgrade to 210 hp.

Apparently there was an article about it in the Q2 '97 170 News.

I don't think that even my takeoff roll at 9500' density altitude at KRKS with an O-300 lasted that long...

I just watched the Walker Texas Ranger video.
mean people fly too. Perhaps some will wear WHITE HATS in a future production.

The goggles added a little flair but when he discarded a LIT cigar from the airplane over brush land
it provoked me a little. Poor California.

Chuck Norris is not a Texan. Not even a transplant. He's an Okie.
But Gregg Abbot, Gov, made him an "honorary Texan" a year or so ago and as far as is known, he's never returned, and we're grateful.

I'm crushed. Norris is not a Texan. Next you'll tell me Santa's sleigh doesn't really fly.
