Wall chart for canada

Post by flyingredyeti »

Does anyone know of the existence of a Canada Wall chart, similar to Sporty's VFR Wall Chart?

I'm looking for a quick reference to use in plotting my coming trip from Colorado to Alaska.

Thanks!

I don't know of a source for a full aviation VFR wall chart for Canada. Your best bet would be to order a couple WAC charts (E-5 and D-12, 1:1,000,000 scale), as well as the appropriate VNC's/VTA's and the required Canada Flight Supplement (CFS). You can get everything at Aircraft Spruce (https://www.aircraftspruce.com/categori ... anada.html).

FltPlan.com (http://www.fltplan.com/) has free access to the digital VNC's as well.

For Canadian Flight Rules, you can download a PDF version of the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) from Transport Canada (https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/ ... u-3092.htm). Our VFR rules are pretty similar to the US.

Weather can be found online through NavCanada (https://flightplanning.navcanada.ca/cgi ... peDoc=html).

You can also file, amend, and close VFR Flight Plans online in Canada by registering with NavCanada (https://plan.navcanada.ca/), as well as the traditional methods.

If you have Foreflight, you can subscribe to the NavCanada maps and publications, which will make your planning a lot easier. Unless you're going into the big centres like Vancouver, Calgary, or Edmonton, you'll find our airspace quite open and unrestricted. If you travel through British Columbia on your trip you'll be greeted by some tremendous scenery. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for that advice. However, Canada has also discontinued their WAC charts. I've been hunting around though . . .

Ah, you're right. I forgot about that. They were a useful map for planning.
