We have about two inches of snow and ice. I just got in from working in Arizona all week. I'm ready to go back. I feel for the guys that are actually getting pounded...the stuff we have is a dusting by comparison.

Hard to say how much we have. Lots of drifting. I have one drift, which happens to run right down our back door walk, which is about 5 ft deep. Looks to be maybe 2 ft. Tomorrow I get to play with my new to me '76 Power King with front end loader and a 6 ft Meyers plow on the 3 pt in the back.
Trying to decide if I need chains or whether the 500 lbs between the loaded tires and wheel weight on the rear axle will be enough. Probably put on the chains so I can go through anything.

I have about 28-30" here and no traffic all day. Tomorrow I will get to play with my little case tractor with a snow thrower. Drifts about 4' and blew all day. Turnpike had a west bound tie up of about 500 vehicles since 3am sat morn near Somerset. A record breaking storm in this area.

WOW!
Glad to hear you guys are all doing well and hopefully the worst of the snowfall is over. Looks like Bruce and John have the technology to make the cleanup more fun than it would be by hand.
The picture is from a buddy in Washington DC taken at noon today, what a mess!
Y'all stay warm and don't overdo the physical part of the cleanup. And hopefully the power stays on!
Anybody else out there snowed-in?

That's the irony for me. Back surgery last week means I'm on the sidelines when it comes to digging out.hilltop170 wrote:WOW!

I'm hoping it all melts before we run out of beer and potato chips

Beer and potato chips is a good plan David.
This morning as far as I can see, maybe average of 2 ft. Lots of drifts to 5 ft. It's a lot of snow but I don't think a record breaker.
It is the kind of snow I had in mind when I bought and built the tractor I have. This will be it first test and it will be a good one.

Nice tractor, Bruce!
I bet the chains will be a good move with that much snow to push.

Action shots I'll have to get from the wife who took them. Here are a few I took today after the cleanup.c170b53 wrote:Action shots Bruce, I think we would love to see you in action!
This first one is the hand dug cut through a 5 ft snow drift to my back door. The rest are my aprox 100x100 driveway parking area which had on average 3 ft of snow on it with a few drifts higher hand an area or two lower.

We actually do have global warming, Frank; that's where the energy that drives these storms comes from. The question is, what is causing the warming... I choose not to engage in THAT discussion here.170C wrote:And they say we have global warming
