Oil Screen Torque

Post by 170C »

For our Continental O-300 engines, what is the proper torque for the small screen (the one with the large holes in the screen)?

Run it in snug against the crush washer, then another half turn or so. There is no specific torque and it can and will be different depending on the quality and cleanliness of the threads. You only need to crush the gasket a wee bit to effect a seal.

Thanks Bruce. It's been a long time since I pulled a screen since I have a filter FS

Continental's SB96-7C says the scavenge oil screen assy. should be torqued to 200-210 in/lbs.
