Is this one of us or is it our little brother?
I wonder if this airplane still exist? N number serial number? Could current owner be a member C170A?

Re: Off Airport Landing Indentify Airplane
One easy way to identify the 170 is the landing gear is in front of the strut attach point, the 120/140 landing gear is behind the strut attach point.

It must be Schrödinger's Cessna.
It's both a 120 and a 140 until someone puts the wings on

Re: Off Airport Landing Indentify Airplane
Can you imagine the mass hysteria the media would create if that happened today?
Re: Off Airport Landing Indentify Airplane
I thought the only difference was flaps.
However, I have been known to be wrong.

Flaps and the window though as mentioned many 120s have had that added.

Re: Off Airport Landing Indentify Airplane
Is that a disconnected flap cable hanging out of a hole in the top/right side of the fuselage in the first picture? Hard to see but it looks like a cable to me. What about that rod-looking thing sticking out right behind the "cable"? Looks like its a 140.

Re: Off Airport Landing Indentify Airplane
The rod is probably the flap axle connecting both flaps together.
120s had no rear window and no flaps.
IIRC most had no electrical system either.
