Any 170's around Langley, BC or Vancouver?

Post by Arkansas Jeff »

Greetings all,

I've been thinking a lot about what type of aircraft I'd be interested in buying once I get my license finished and I've given 170's a lot of thought. Your forum has helped out a lot in that regard and I really appreciate all the knowledge you guys have.

I've seen a few 120's and 140's, but I've never been able to spend any time around a 170. I was wondering if there were any located around Langley, Vancouver, or lower British Columbia with an owner willing to spend some time shooting the bull one afternoon. I'd be more than happy to buy lunch or a 12-pack in exchange for your time.

Since this is my first post, I'll introduce myself. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest a little north of Seattle and began taking flying lessons when I was about 12 in a C-150 out of KAWO. I ended up moving to California, Georgia, then Arkansas but managed to keep taking lessons here and there and have had the joy of flying a bunch of typical Cessna's, a few Citabria's & Super Decathlons, and a couple ultralights. I'm looking to finally knuckle down and get my license finished soon and hope to be getting my own plane soon. Looking forward to getting to know you guys!

There are quite a few around the Vancouver area, I have met at least six between the Island and the lower mainland. Three that I know of at Victoria.

My 170 is my first plane after getting my license and I don't think that I could have made a better choice. I will PM you my cell no.

Try PMing Jim McIntosh, c170b53 here on the forums. He's one of our more active members from Vancouver. I'm sure he'd appreciate someone to give him a little competition for the Long Distance International award at the conventions.

Miles you know it!
I wanted a 170 as my first airplane but most (not here) advised that a tailwheel was too hard to learn for a newbie. Came to my senses later and have loved the plane since.

That looks like an Airport in the picture.

Inviting, down in the valley, scenic and the prevailing wind mostly straight down the runway.

The runway is a little close to the water though.

Sure looks like happy landing, happy flying.

Make your dreams come true!
