Can't get away from George.

Post by buzzlatka »

George everywhere I go I run into your people. I just landed in Farmington NM to trade my 190 ( which used to be Ron's) with Ron H's 180. He said you guys used to be mistaken for one another at work.

Ron lives 4+ hours drive north of work (DFW) and I live 4 hours south.
We both started working there the same month.
We're both white-haired, overweight, and gorgeo... uh, ...gregarious.
We both own/fly 170's. (Both Members of TIC170A).
Both taught Hawkers (700/800/XPs). Both TCE (examiner) qualified.

Management types kept calling us by the other's name.

Ron obtained a new qualification (Hawker 1000 TCE) which earned him a 3% raise.
Mgmt mistakenly gave ME the raise.
My paycheck had a nice increase for about 3 months when finally Ron questioned co. mgmt about WHERE is his raise?

Rather than admit their error... the company also qualified ME in the Hawker 1000 so that my tasks matched my salary.... Ron received a bonus as an apology to make up for the 3 mos salary error.

The next company-wide meeting.... Ron and I decided to mess with 'em.... we traded Name Badges and impersonated each other during the meeting! It still took most of them a few questions/answers before they figured us out.
