Must be very talented to come to a stop with the "Cessna/bird" upright, no? (On BOTH sides?)

Those who can't mount wheel panties to cover their wheels.

All wheel pants should be painted pink.

George,

For eighty big ones, I'd want those Cessna birds to both stop upright every time.

I'll take it one step further...

For $80K, I'd want wheelpants. In all seriousness, the airplane is so pretty, I would ALMOST allow that to slide.

All this is negotiable guys.

Wheel pants? No problem! I've been put on the trail of an original cessna set if someone wanted them I may be able to negotiate that.

I'm actually working on integrating an old king air syncrophaser in with the anti skid system so that after takeoff, the brakes are applied individually to stop the bird right side up for inflight photos. On the ground is my secret how they end up right side up, but I'll share with the buyer.

Please note that they are directional. It does have a right and left side specific hub cap. This is a very sophisticated 170.
OMG! Does that mean if we get them reversed.... only a ground-loop/tailslide will stop them correctly?

Maybe we could have these mounted on some "Spinner Rims" and they would always be stationary and read correctly!

I think that only works if you mount the nav whiskers on the bottom corners of the fuselage so they can dual-purpose as curb feelers. Also, having a strapless windshield, it's going to be pretty difficult to hang a pair of fuzzy dice from the compass.

Those wheel birds would stay rightside up if weighted and on pivots.

Hey! Maybe an STC could be found for "spinning" hub-caps, like the dudes down in the ghetto! Then they could be weighted! :D

I agree, Aryana. I operate mostly off moderately-rough/smooth grass (it's a subjective thing...I don't consider my own strip "rough" but Goody Goodrich sure raised cain with me when he landed his Swift here with flat struts!
(Fran was so mad at him for swapping the 170-B for a Swift she refused to ride in it again.)

PS: I SPLIT/MOVED certain individual posts from the original TradeMart thread in order to clean-up/avoid more hacking of the original post.
