Looking for a 170b. Ready to buy.

Postby Vertical » Sat Nov 24, 2018 5:02 am

I've been looking for some time, and either haven't quite found the right bird, or been quick enough on the draw. If anyone has any leads I would appreciate if you would send them my way. I'm in the Seattle area, so commercial flights to major hubs are easy, although it would be nice to find something west of the Mississippi. Finances are in order; no hassle.

Thanks, Kevin.

Preferences:
Corrosion free.
Well maintained, airworthy and no paperwork surprises.
Low/mid-time or run-out O-360 (although I would consider the right low to mid time O-300, and possibly an IO360).
Mods like 180 gear, Sportsman's wing, BAS handles and extended baggage good, but stock fine as well.

I'm not concerned with:
A nice paint job
Minor cosmetic defects
Damage that has been repaired correctly
Expensive panel
New upholstery or fancy headliners

Make that two 170B's for Seattle or should I say 'I'll have what he's having'. Kevin did you copy my list? It looks strangely identical to mine :) Lets see who gets their 170B first. The loser has to buy breakfast at Spruce Goose Cafe @ 0S9.

Happy Hunting!

Kevin, I am selling my 1953 C170B if you are still looking. It is an Oshkosh winner in 2008. It has been completely restored (restoration album included), I mean everything. It might be in the top two or three in the US. It is a Del-Air conversion which means it has a Lycoming 180 and constant speed prop. Total STCs are about 15. I would be happy to text you pictures based on your interest. There are about 3200 hours on the airframe and 1150 SMOH regarding the engine. I am asking $69,000. I may be reached at melcessna170b(at)gmail.com. The symbol @ has been deleted from the email address to preclude spam. Take care, Mike Lewis
