60 AMP Ford Alternator

Post by 170C »

Anyone happen to have a sketch/drawing of the electrical terminals and what wires go to which terminals for the above alternator? Due to location, its difficult to see what goes where.
thanks,
Frank

Frank, here's the scans from the Cessna Alternator Service Parts Manual. Hope this helps.

And here is their simplified Testing Procedure for determining ON the airplane if it's the Alt, Reg, or wiring.
Notice that to quickly see if it's the alternator you can unplug the Regulator and stick a jumper/paper-clip between the F and A terminals on the plug. Don't run it for more than a minute or so, tho'... as you can over-do things.
