George, I was looking for the engine mount to the engine bolt. Thanks! I do have the parts catalog but my mechanic is confused on serial number differences. He is not computer savvy and it is left to me to find the proper part numbers thus the reason for these questions. It is costing me a lot more ...

Where to put CDI?

Where do you place a CDI when all 7 holes are taken by ASI,T&B,ALT,AH,DG,VSI,RPM? Saw some pictures showing an 8th hole below the middle hole(seems like a difficult mod due to the strenghening required) and others beside the radio stacks panel covers. Picture attachment and explanation on the di...

George, I totally forgot about that! I know I've read it before in the previous topics and totally forgot when I discussed with my mechanic about all the things that should be done and procured. Again, thanks for the heads up!

elevator trim controlsystem cable overhaul

MC050105 cable (from aft to disconnect) ahs been cut at the disconnect end. Local repair shops do not have the facilities to reconnect a new cable to the fittings required to be replaced on the system. Is there a place where i can send the control cables and have them overhauled? All else seems to b...

Firewall insulation material?

Anyone have any idea on what material is used for firewall insulation? I saw in aircraft spruce that they have this on cessna 140's but not fot the 170's. I would like to get the material and just have it made here in the Philippines to save on cost. Thanks!

George, my mechanic has looked at those and is concerned about the fitting for the parkbrake installation requiring an extra hole. Has anyone adopted either a Matco or Cleveland master cylinder on a 170 on record?

Fuel and brake line replacement specifications

I am replacing most fuel and brake lines for my project. Does anyone have a material spec for the primer, main fuel and brake lines so I can just purchase by the roll? Is there any item that should not be done by the mechanic and bought new from cessna? Thanks!

Master brake cylinders, any replacements available?

My project has somehow lost the master brake cylinders (still investigating the loss at the shop and charge them) and will need to be replaced. I have seen other master cylinders but it does not have part numbers on it. What series of planes can I look at that will match the parts required? Early 17...

control cable overhaul/replacement?

Is there a way to have my original throttle, mixture, carb heat, starter pull, cabin heat and park brake cables overhauled? Are there replacements available? Can the knobs be removed and just have the cables replaced? Cessnaparts.com cannot supply other cables, only park brake and carb heat, and the...
