Re: Pitot Tube System help
Well I didn't see any sense in starting another thread on this subject since it's me with the problem again. So on take off I realized I was having another ASI issue. The Pitot tube cover was in place this time so I didn't think it was a bug issue but could have gotten on in there on take off I gues...

Re: Relocation Well Underway
Pretty awesome timing there Miles. Not sure that could have worked out any better for ya.
There is sure a lot of pools in that area. I didn't realize Michigan stayed warm long enough to justify a pool.

Re: The trip (2015)
Jim, So sorry to hear about your situation but as the rest of the folks have said you have to look at the positive side of this picture. You came out of this uninjured. I know the event will bug you for a long time as you replay it in your mind. Try to not let it get you down. When I came back throu...

Re: The trip (2015)
Well Jim it sounds like an adventure in the making. At least you are on the ground safe for the night. I hope the weather clears up for all of you heading east. We have been getting lots of rain here in Arkansas but looks like maybe by Friday it will clear up but I'm guessing that puts a lot of folk...

Re: Road Trip NO Aircraft Sightings
Those 900lb 180hp Carbon Cubs really climb. Richard, You are not kidding. It was awesome to take a ride in one. I bet you really enjoy those 1000 mile trips flying those things. When we were on on my strip Scot was talking to some of the guys about how they were going to proceed out and he said now...

Re: Road Trip NO Aircraft Sightings
I'm a young pup compared to some on this forum, I'm only 43 and have been flying since 2003. According to my Uncle I missed out on the good years of aviation. Of course he's in his mid 70's and has been flying for close to 45 years. The closest public airport to use to Harrison (HRO) and that is whe...

Re: Yet Another Prop Question(s)
Ok George, Can you help me out a little bit more? Looking on the net for propellers I am trying to search for things like "McCauley DM" or "McCauley MDM". The TCDS lists "McCauley 1A170", Sensenich M74DR (With an * beside of it), and "McCauley 1C172/MDM" with ...

Re: Yet Another Prop Question(s)
Doug and Tim, Thank you for your valuable information. Doug, I am not trying to suggest that I think I have a problem. I need to perform the static rpm test to verify first off if that is in line with where it should be I guess. I placed this post in hopes I could gain some knowledge about propeller...

Re: Yet Another Prop Question(s)
I have never performed a static rpm test with my 7456 so I do not know what the rpm value of that should be or will be. I could have this in reverse but it would seem a climb prop would be taking a bigger bite of air if it's going to get me off the ground faster thus the engine will not be able to r...

Thank you George for your patient reply. I am sure I have a couple more questions based on your reply but will digest this a bit here in hopes of asking the right questions.
Thanks again,

Yet Another Prop Question(s)
So I have searched and read for hours on propellers and I think I have an increased knowledge level but I have to admit I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I currently have a Sensenich 74DR-0-56 according to my paperwork. I have not verified any stamps. I have an O-300 engine. I have had not ...

Re: Electronic Performance Calculator
I agree completely. A lot easier for me to punch it in then pull out the AFM and read between the lines.Greg Bockelman wrote:An app you plug in the numbers and out spits accurate info. At least more accurate than eyeballing it. That data is not exactly user friendly.

Re: Got my field approval for 8.50X6 tires!!!
If I am remembering correctly Kenny was right off the SE end of the Conway, AR (kcws) airfield (old location) that was back in the early 2000's when I lived and received my training in Conway. Not sure if he's still in that location, since they opened up the new strip 10 miles out of town but doubt ...
