Re: Work in Unheated Uninsulated Hanger
I've used a propane forced air heater to heat up my hanger before. I like the idea of finding a used mobile home unit. I am sure one could be scored on craigslist or something. https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200485167_200485167?cm_mmc=Google-pla&utm_source=Google_PLA&utm_med...

Re: Winterization plate outline request
No worries. Great job on the plates you made BTW. I have kind of decided to make some custom plates because I don't want to block off my cabin heat. I started making some templates this week out of manila folder material. I saw Scott's post on FB and am really interested in the forming process and i...

Re: Winterization plate outline request
Nice Bruce. Did we ever get the early covers documented as far as the dimensions? I saw the oil cooler picture at the beginning of this thread. I'm looking for dimensions for the 52 B model.

Re: Mag Rite Engine Timer?
After several weeks of no response I ended up having to go through PayPal for a refund. About that time the owner contacted me and apologized. He offered to refund my money or wait to ship the unit to me. I can’t remember the reason he gave me. It’s a small business so things happen. I would still l...

Flap Positions on 52 170B
Working on placards... I've noted that some planes have a 10 degree flap position and some don't. My manual for my 1952 170B doesn't mention a 10 degree setting but my plane has a 10 degree notch. I am wondering if someone added the 10 degree notch at some point. The records do not say anything. Whi...

Re: D-SUB tool
This one has worked well for me on two RV's, a Challenger and a 170.

Gear Leg Step
I was looking for the guy who was making the aluminum steps for the gear legs. Did that thread get deleted?

Re: Vacuum/Suction gage fittings
Stephen, Mine is the same way. If it’s the small UMA gauge, the line labeled “P” is connected to a vacuum source like your instrument. The other line labeled “V” is a vent and is ok left open. It vents to normal atmospheric pressure. You can adjust your regulator by trial and error to see if you can...

Nice job collecting those Dave. I didn’t know Dick but by reading those quips, he sounds like someone I would have liked. Condolences to his family.

Hi Terri. Welcome to the group. I am based in Nampa, ID. I am trying to remember what 170 was for sale. Congrats on the purchase. Stop and say hi if you are ever this way again.

Re: B.A.S. Inertia-Reel Shoulder Harness
I just put the utility style in my plane. So far I am really happy with them. I also put in a new headliner so cutting the holes was easy. I haven't installed the Velcro strips yet but will get around to that soon. For now I have just been letting them dangle behind the seat.

Re: Headset Reviews
I have Zulu 2's and they have been really nice. I just got a new Zulu 3 but haven't had time to try it out yet. The cord is much more flexible. I really like the A20's as well but the Zulu's seem to be just as good/comfortable and a couple hundred bucks cheaper.

Re: Vacuum Regulator
I finally got my new overhauled DG back in the plane. I tried running without the regulator but I was pulling up over 6" on the vacuum gauge. So I reinstalled the regulator and after a couple flight to adjust the vacuum, it is working great!
