That is a Schroers glare shield (STCd). Bob Schroers was a TIC170A member from Washington state, and is no longer with us. Electroair here in Howell Michigan also has an electronic ignition certified for the O-300. Frank, the wires are iron/constantan and its kinda hard to get a good connection between these two wires and then get them soldered to the edge of that ring......they really don't cost that much. The little tang on mine has been missing for 48+ years. If I remember correctly, to replace this part the tail feathers have to come off to access a couple of nuts. (Should have done this several years ago when I had them off checking for corrosion) Really has presented no problem in over 3000 hrs....
