Re: Installed 180 Landing Gear
Richard, It sounds like they predate the lady legs. I saw a set of 180 gear legs on barnstormers , The pictures were not of 180 gear, even though the indivual said that they were off a 180, they definitely were not 180 gear legs. they looked like older 170 gear ( pre lady legs ) I sent a message ask...

Re: installing Cessna 175 tanks in my Cessna 170b

I almost did the change myself but find the javeline...

Re: L-19 Leaf spring installation
On this discussion, I have asked for feedback from an instructor of mine, who is also an engineer. I won't bother to paraphrase his thoughts on the matter, but will simply say that he offered to bring me a photo of a similar example, e.g. what happens when a larger spring is installed on the L-19. ...

I think you might be on to something there Jim, because my 55 26509 has holes and shims at the bulkhead. Slots would make the install simpler as I remember having fun placing the shims and bolts at the bulkhead.
Assuming the slots are fore and aft.

Re: door hinges
Hi, I have found that the easiest way to repair the top hinge( which is on the door) if the tabs are broken off is to buy piano hinge from aircraft spruce part no. 03-00052-6. This is if you do not have the resources to drill and weld on the parts that have broken off. I will try to describe the pro...
