Re: Fuel changed colour in one tank
Green is the proper color on our gauges. Red is bad! Hard to get green any respect, but let things turn red and see the sweat pop out on your forehead

Re: Help with brake noise
I have had good service from the Black Steel disks. They seem to be much better than chrome disks. I am on my second set of black disks.

Didn't know about Flying B breakfast. Would be hard to beat what we had. What does Flying B have that you prefer over Sulphur Creek? Just curious.

170 Assn Members Aircraft
Just returned yesterday from a week out west. Saw members' John Hart's '54 170 tied down at West Yellowstone Airport (didn't have my directory to know it was a members plane at the time). Also met member Bill and Elaine Boggess (and son) at Johnson Creek, ID. Nice folks and a nice '52 170 with a 180...

Re: Fuel changed colour in one tank
I have noticed on a couple of occasions that 100LL placed in a clear, plastic bottle and exposed to sunlight will lose its blue color. Becomes clear. Still smells the same and will still run my tug.

It would be meaningful if you could give us the prop data and what kind of performance data you are seeing compared to the GO300.

Re: ADS-B IN
I have a couple of friends who have installed the Sky Sensor. Both work well and both have been signed off by IA's. One gave me his Flight Box ADS unit that I may have to start using if I can't resolve the Scout issue.

Re: ADS-B IN
Just completed a 160 n trip this morning. Scout worked initially, then disconnected. I could go into settings, then back to FF and it would reconnect for a while. Toward the end of the first 80n leg it disconnected and wouldn't reconnect. On the return leg the experience was pretty much the same. I ...

ADS-B IN
Wondering what others may be experiencing while using the uAvionix Scout unit? I am using mine with ForeFlight and sometimes it works great while other times it gives the "Scout Disconnected" message. I know of one other former 170 member who has experienced the same in his C-180. I've bug...

Re: Engine data plate obliterated
Couldn't one make their own (owner produced part) with the serial # and whatever else one wanted on the data plate and attach it to the engine?

Re: USB port
I'm glad to find out its not just me! I purchased one like George did, and while its way over on the rh side of my instrument panel, I cannot read it from my position. Even if I lean over its mostly not readable. Guess we need to find one with a brighter display.

Nice looking 170!
George, give him your formula for adding WD-40 to the wash water. I don't recall the specifics.

Re: I thought I was overweight [aircraft]
George, I wasn't in that particular 5 plane gaggle. I was in another one. Rumor had it you were elected to lead the group so as not to have any of the fast, green planes pass up your red one. That is just what the gossip was.
