Re: Massachusetts C170B Prebuy

Although you can't see behind the prop, that cowling looks very much like the one I have on my '56 172 and it is a '59 172 cowling I am told. No crossbar and open above and below the prop shaft.

Re: Metal flakes in the C-145

So those of us with F&M filter adapters, do we also replace the fiber gasket with the crush washer? Would be interesting to see either the entire installation instructions to see if it differs from the F&M installation instructions and especially page 7 for how to put a safety wire hole in t...

Humor of Sorts

Many yrs ago I became annoyed by the lack of an opening window in my '56 172. I discussed this with 170 Assn co-founder John Benham and as John was known to do, he attended an auction and spotted two Cessna 172 doors which he purchased for me. I had my then mechanic replace the original doors with t...

Re: 170B Stabilizer SE U.S.

You may be lucky to find one here in the SE US, but if you can find one anywhere in the US I'd take it if it is in good condition and not over priced, whatever that is. If you haven't checked, call Tim Posey at Dawson Aircraft Parts in Clinton, AR 501-745-5300, or Air Salvage Dallas in Lancaster, TX

Re: Stall Warning system problem

If it were me, I would do some checking with salvage yards and see what price they are asking. Of course those might be about to go bad, but most places like Air Salvage Dallas (Lancaster, TX) will ck them out before selling them. Give Lucky a call.

Re: ADS-B IN

Wonder if they would give me $200 off since I have two Scouts? One I purchased 2-3 yrs ago and one they sent me at no charge. Neither worked satisfactory. First one did OK some of the time, but neither worked most of the time. One of the companies employees admitted that the Scout was a low end unit...

Re: ADS-B IN

My gifted Stratux unit has worked without fail since installing (suction cup to windshield). I'm using ships power instead of the battery.

That's a good point George. Wonder if they give discounts on insurance for slower planes?

Re: CFI Flight Review Requirements

Got my flight review done yesterday. That makes my insurance company happy. My normal FAA required flt review is due in September, but now it won't be due until August of 2022. However, I'll have to do another one prior to 9-9-21 to comply with insurance requirements. Got my policy renewal and I was...

Re: CFI Flight Review Requirements

Thanks Bruce! My friend, a cfi, was concerned that since he doesn't have a tw endorsement he couldn't give me the flt review. This should relieve him of his concern.

CFI Flight Review Requirements

What is required of a cfi in order for him/her to give me a flight review in my tailwheel aircraft VFR? Someone was saying the cfi had to have a tailwheel endorsement if he/she didn't fall under the grandfathered rule that most of us do. As a current vfr pilot, I would be acting as pic during the re...
