Re: Rear Horizontal Bulkhead

My tail is off and I don’t have them. I’ll see if I can’t get some fabbed and installed.

Re: B&W 170 Art

I’ll play contrarian. My bet is that was originally S/N 18002 and modified for an A model demonstrator/test bed. It seems silly to think they’d trash the (likely) more conformant of the prototypes for no reason. A friend of mine has a 150 Aerobat that left the production line in 1966 as a G model an...

Re: Muffler Construction?

Thanks, George.

I considered that, but I wasn’t sure how similar the two were. I’ll give him a ring.

Muffler Construction?

Hi all, I am getting a quote from a local shop to Cerakote my exhaust system on my airplane. They have questions about the end caps of the mufflers because the coating I’m getting on the stacks is flame applied and they are concerned it will burn through the mufflers. I’d prefer to have the higher t...

Probably the same math that says that’s a $100K+ panel.

Re: I'm Tall Are There Short Seat Frames Available

Also not an answer to your question, but I’d love to hear your experience with Airtex. I am considering doing their seats for my Bonanza, but I’ve heard more than one dissatisfied customer. Contact me off-list if preferred. I’m slightly more vertically challenged than you at 6’ 3” and can sympathize...

Re: RC Allen Mini6

I’m considering a mini6 to replace my vacuum system while I save my pennies for some 275s and a 650. Glad to see this thread. I love RC Allen attitude indicators and my airplane has had one installed as long as I can remember. I plan to put the original panel overlay with the square compass window i...

Re: Wheel Fairing Trim

Monkey wrench time. I have my original wheelpants for 56D that are in a bit too sad of shape to be re-installed. A friend pulled them out of the back of his hangar when my Dad was restoring the airplane and said that the owner at the time elected to not have them re-installed when he converted to Cl...

Re: Alternator STC

Thanks for bringing up the portable battery option for a dead battery and alternator situation. I have asked every person I know that understands these systems better than me how much voltage and power does it take to excite an alternator? Nobody so far can even make a good guess. And it hasn't bee...

Re: Alternator STC

I’ve done the Plane Power on my 170 and my Bonanza. Big fan.

I differ from George on the generator versus alternator sentiment, but it is nice to not have to add external power if you have a completely dead battery.

Elevator Pushrod Pitting Concerns?

Hi all, I’m getting my money’s worth out of the forums here lately. While the aft fuselage has been removed for my first annual, I took the time to clean up things in the tail since I was 8 years old the last time the tail was pulled off the airplane and as such, I don’t remember much about it. One ...

Throttle Linkage?

Hi all, I’m in the middle of a mammoth first annual as actual owner of my airplane, and one of the things I’m tackling is the throttle linkage which has been too short and improperly routed for my entire existence with the airplane. I have a copy of the IPC, but I’m having trouble visualizing the at...
