I was wondering if anyone could help me out. we had to chance the Elevator tab control rod. We got one off a 170A. It appears to be to long. We don't have a old control rod to measure from. Is anyone willing to take some pictures of the cable runs aft of the rear seat. The cables were removed from our plane that we are rebuilding. The service manual nor the parts manual give a really good picture of the runs through the pullies and fairleads aft of the rear seat. Especially needed rud...

Need help with a rudder measurement
Could anyone out there please measure with the rudder in neutral position from the T/E of the Vertical to the L/E of the corrigated skin (rudder outside skin. not just to the bull nose) on the rudder. We bought a used rudder to install on our 1952 170B. There was some alignment problems with the hinge points. I had to shim the upper bearing block out approx .150" so that the rudder would clear the top of the vertical. This did however give me a mismatch of approx .150" back from the L/E...

Rudder installation
Has anyone had a problem with installing a new rudder and having it not fit because the top L/E at the balance weight rubs on the top of the vertical stab? How do you correct this problem?

I was wondering if anyone out there has had to replace there firewall yet. I am doing a restore project and the firewall is pretty bad off. i am thinking about fabricating a new one.
