Re: door catch

There is someone on the 120/140 Association site that sells the mouse trap springs. I don't know how much as the price is not listed but you can find the contact info here http://www.cessna120-140.org/Classified/springs.htm

Re: Avcon or Delair carb heat

It looks to me that the smooth bare skin of the muffler pesents the same problem that I had on my L-5, just not enough "finning" or other surface stuff to pull more heat out of the exhaust gasses. Anyone with knowledge of the interior of the Hanlon-Wilson stock mufflers on the C-170B, wil...

Re: Rental/lease

I'm now wondering if my decision could add my plane to a scrap heap...?? Sounds like a good possibility. When I bought my cessna 140 the Aero Club I belonged to wanted me to lease my 140 back to them. I told them they didn't have enough money to lease it because I saw how members treated the club p...

Re: 170 B with less than 1300 hours TTAF

Don't Know why he won't sell but from what I saw of the airplane there is not much that is any good. The exterior is badly corroded. Every part that is not blue is corroded, not painted. The MLG legs are probably trash because of the extent of the rust. The right door was ripped off by the wind yeas...

This is what they end up as, when the owner refuses to sell and lets the airplane sit for 40 years http://cessna170.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10024

John, If you get down this way again let me know so we can try to get together. Haven't flown over that way yet but haven't had a reason to go there.

Re: Incontinence, of the Fuel Kind!

Well I'll just be happy if I get to modify my airplane by running the engine a little requiring the addition of fuel and an oil change. Niether of my planes have moved since last November due to bad weather normal flying days or having to work on days I'd ordinarily fly. :( Sorry to hear that Bruce...
