Re: Brake master cylinder

dstates, has your Brake Master Cylinder issue been completely resolved? I hope you have had success. It is such a good feeling to stand beside aircraft and push top of brake pedal while a friend is trying to rotate the wheel. Clamping action - repeatly tested. Know before you go. Enjoy your C170 - a...

Re: Augmentation System Boeing 737 MAX 8 WHY?

Commerce took it's eye off the Ball. Yes we had too much paper documentation. Boeing main library 1980s - Key Boeing Librarian stated "I wish it could ALL disappear. He was just frustrated, his customers were ALL over the world using different systems. Share empathy with him. It is simple - ide...

Re: How to have fun flying with no medical.

Enjoyed reading all the post.

A couple of "key word" points jump out.

You have a "pilot certificate" not a license that can expire.

You own an airplane - "ownership" is steeped into our personalities like hot tea.

Re: Brake master cylinder

A few of us owner/pilots of C170 have been peering down into the barrel of the disassembled Master brake cylinder. I just wanted to commend the original designer of the cylinder. It is such a unique compact design. Brilliant. Did you notice that there is a lower portion at very bottom of cylinder th...

Re: Brake master cylinder

Dear dstates You can do this. You already know some stuff. My A/P does amazing work w the simple little pump oiler filed w aircraft brake fluid. Helps w two persons working together but not really necessary. A key factor may be to have a clear line from top plug hole of the brake Master cylinder to ...

Re: Taxi/landing light switch

Your switch is "repairable" Original design was overbuilt. However the assembly of switch components was weak. It involves riveting tensions. Switch passes quality control test in 1950s. HOWEVER and there is always a however. When the panel had switch installed - over the years avionics te...

Re: Used Propeller Value

Try starting at 1850.00 Even a bent prop has value. Tied down outside. Just a few have disappeared from nose. Prop shops know about Legality of prop/engine combinations. They could be a few blocks ahead. An annual inspection does not normally require prop removal. Please ignore most of what I said.

Re: p/n 0713026-5 Push Pull Master Switch

This will be easy fix. You are going to be very happy. Purchase same MS from Ebay, etc. Chuck up in a vise - carefully bend up metal tabs holding the bakelite switch base to cover. Disassemble. Your problem is most likely intermittent operation because rivets not cinched at time of orig install. sma...

Re: Upgraded Battery Chargers

I hesitate to ever leave a Charger hooked up on a continuous basis to my Concorde AGM.

New smart chargers say it is OK but I don't accept the idea yet.

Am I being too fearful ?
