Guys, If you have access to the cover sheet of an M20 STC PLEASE help Bipolar out! I know for a fact that the M20 was legally purchased when the aircraft was registered to the owner before me, but it appears that the actual STC paperwork is no longer with the aircraft records. I've tried calling the...

Jon, Sounds like you guys had a great trip! I'll bet your 180hp bird did just great. I'm headed up that way this weekend. Taking the new RV for it's first x-country up to Canon City, and will probably make a stop in at Leadville while we're there. I took a Taylorcraft up to Leadville 2 years ago. My...

Re: rough numbers
Yep, that's the sweet spot. Keep it there and you'll see the consumption rate go down to about 1qt every 12-14 hours.bipolar wrote: Ikept the oil at 6 qt but I believe she likes to stay about 5.5 will advise

I agree with Ha, if a straight tail 172 is available, (there's going to be at that price range), with hours left on the engine that's a good option. I think those classics will increase in value in the future, and might do you well until a tail machine and you cross paths. Very true. A good friend ...

I've owned both a PA22 and a 170B. If money were no object I'd definitely prefer the Cessna. - HOWEVER - If money is an issue, you can get a Cherry PA22/PA20 for $30K or slightly more. That same amount is likely to land you a turdlike 170. In order to find a comparable 170 you'll most likely have to...

Ben, I don't think you'll find a 170 in the 30's that you'll be happy with. However, if you are willing to limit yourself to a 2 place airplane the following would be great choices: Taylorcraft, Cessna 120/140, Aeronca Champ or Aeronca Chief. You might even find a decent 7ECA Citabria in that range....

Just wanted to say thanks. . . . .
. . . for all the great info, advice and friends I've made for the short time I was a 170 owner. This board and the Association are a great resource, and I look forward to running into some of the friends I've made at future fly-ins. I've sold the 170, and am looking real hard at a Van's RV, but wil...
