Re: Interior pics
Unfortunately, Buster's Upholstery in Porterville seems to have gone out of business. At least their phone has been disconnected. I visited Lincoln Skyways at Lincoln airport last week. While they do not have exact matches, they do have a very thin carpet which is quite similar to the original carpe...

Re: Interior pics
nippaero, Thanks for confirming my suspicion that my carpet is indeed original. The inspection plates and flap handle cutouts in your photos match mine exactly. Wish I could find that thin carpet. Seat Fabric Search Update: I finally got the promised sample from SMS which thay claim is "an exac...

Re: Interior pics
Vern, Isn't that panel supposed to fit into a metal lip under the window? Also did they recover your arm rests? I talked to Airtex on the phone yesterday and am not very confident they will match the sewn in patterns on seats or sidewalls. I sent pictures to them but they have not responded yet. The...

Re: Interior pics
Further update... LeBaron Bonney referred me to SMS. SMS replied same day and said they would mail me samples based on my photos. 2 weeks later I emailed to make sure they had my address. Again, same day response saying they have my address "I'll get the samples to you." It's been another ...

Re: Interior pics
Thanks for the leads Gary. I'll check. It's not just the carpet though. Scroll back a page or two for photos of the seats and side panels.

Re: Interior pics
OK, I give up. While I would love to have my interior redone in materials that match the original, Vinyl yes, anything else, no go. Apparently rust is not in fashion anymore. I even visited wholesale upholstery supplier KeystoneBros in San Francisco yesterday. As close as they could come from a colo...

Re: Interior pics
Here are the carpet samples I have collected. The smaller squares are Airtex. It is fairly thick cut pile nylon carpet. The larger rectangular piece on the left is from Douglas Interior Products. I like it the best as it is relatively thin and not cut pile. It fells tough. However it doesn't come pr...

A quick update... the hose is 3/8" ID so I have ordered some Aeroquip 306-6 and clamps. Here is a photo of the relief valve.

Re: Interior pics
Well, ok just one more photo showing the construction of the carpet where the pile is separating from the backing. Notice how thin it is.

Re: Interior pics
Last clue. this photo shows matching gray carpet on the "legs" of the rear seat. Is that stock? If not it might support the theory that this is not stock carpet at all.

Re: Interior pics
A shot of the cover for the motion picture camera port which was installed in 1963. Maybe all the carpet was replaced then. I was only 12 and probably not paying very close attention. Carpet is glued to this fairly large cover. That hole comes in really handy during the annual inspection.

Re: Interior pics
A shot of my heel plates. Of note, the carpet only goes forward from the back edge of the heel plate about an inch. The heel plate holds the carpet down in front along with some very small screws with tapered washers. the front carpet covers a number of round inspection plates rather than being cut ...

The control column has a metal cover plate where it comes up from the tunnel. It is not carpeted like yours.
