I don't think it's a common problem. The lower cowl would probably have patches over the original exhaust pipe outlets. N8018A with the Avcon conversion used a fiberglass nose bowl. Proper fit and minimizing stress areas is essential. That's also true with stock engines. I've seen a lot of old cowls...

Oil Pressure Restrictor Fitting
Anybody know the right size hole in these? I need to make one up. A pretty knowlegable friend said drill size #60 but that's pretty darn small.

Perhaps you could look at the paperwork to see what was installed then try to verify it looking at the parts with a mechanic if necessary. Once you figure it out you can contact Cleveland (Parker Hannifin), fax them what you have, and they'll send you a new set of labels no charge. Also includes the...

The Instructions for Continued Airworthiness have pretty clear instructions on how and when to charge the battery. http://www.concordebattery.com/otherpdf/IFCA1.pdf I also use these batteries in the Citations and King Airs in our charter opera...

When I contacted Avion, they hemmed and hawed for some time telling me how great it was and that I should immediately put one on order. When all the BS was cleared away and it came down to having a STC for the C-170, the answer was NO. It would require a field approval. Well that settles it then Di...

This is what my 180 has: http://www.avion.com/Products/InstrumentPanelKits/CessnaSinglesReplacementPanelKits.html Even though they refer to the 170 below their list of STC'd aircraft it's a bit unclear if the 170 has an STC. I really like the mod, it adds a bit more height as well. Currently I've go...

 Wheelpants are for sissies. Rose, We may be sissies, but we are fast sissies. :D Don't believe it Rose. Truth be known the original style pants MIGHT add 1-2 mph. It's pretty much undetectable. It does keep a little of the cow dung from hitting the bottom of the wing before you nose it ov...
