Re: KN75 Glideslope Receiver
I have a KX-155 nav/com and a KI-209 indicator, but no glideslope receiver. I'm told that a KN-75 will work with the KI-209. Can anyone confirm this? Will it interface to a KX155? How difficult would it be to get this all working in my 170? Whats a good price for a KN75? Thanks in advance for any h...

Re: Fuel flow
It took you a while, and two trys, and two days, but you hung in there and came up with a reply  'George The Turtle' might not stick, if you can speed that B model up. Did you give up being a deer or cheetah, that was kind of confusing, maybe take off like a deer, and fly like a cheetah, or so...

Re: TSIO-360 conversion
George,it sounds like you favor the 6 cylinder engines where conversions are concerned. At the old group site,I posted a message about Johnny Williams in San Angelo Texas & his TSIO-360 conversion. I believe the tail number is N 3JX. Have you ever seen this plane? It must be an awesome performe...

Re: Fuel flow
My fuel burn runs about 8 gph in my '53 model, with O300C and EM7655 prop and single-piece venturi carb, at 2450 RPM, leaned but on the rich side, without EGT. With that cruise prop, I'm probably pulling more manifold pressure than 65%. I flight plan 10 gph for a fudge factor. When I get my MP and ...

Old Hangar Picture wanted
I need a pic of a vacant hangar, preferably one that's run-down and maybe with a bunch of advertisment signs all over it. Email it to me. (I intend to post it over at the "old" site, to go along with the msg that we moved because of poor conditions and too many ads.

Re: From The Guy That Can Attest
To further point out a point. If the prop stops, wether you had to do it or it did it on it's own, now you have something like a 2X4 stuck out to slow your plane down. You need to be slightly higher than normal on short final to compensate for the increased drag. I can attest that it is not any fun...

Emergency Landings
Flyguys suggestion is a good one, ...one of many techniques (whatever works, right?) that are intended to have a favorable outcome. I'd like to point out what I believe is the first element of success (after pulling FULL CARB HEAT ) is ,>> .. SELECTION OF A PLACE OF INTENDED LANDING. This first acti...

Re: H engine
The 170 type certificate sez:"Propeller-Koppers Aeromatic F200-H/00-74E......................and C-145-2H engine with dampered crankshaft are required.....". Eric You don't suppose the FAA could make a mistake? TCM Engine Manual X30013, Overhaul Manual for Models C125, C145, and O300, on ...

Re: Regulator of Venturi suction
Thanks for the inputs! I did notice yesterday on the first flight out of the barn (read very expensive annual) that my venturi suction seemed lower. I just this year put in a new DG and Artificial Horizon. I quickly noticed that the DG was quick to wander, and the off flag in the Artificial Horizon...

Re: O-320 conversion???
I'm curious why you would want to do an O-320 conversion. Unless Lycoming ponies are bigger than Continental ponies, you're only gaining 5 horsepower. That's only about 3-1/2 %. If it's a 160-horse version, that's still only about 10% increase. I think the 4 cylonder Lycoming engines are as close to b...

Re: O-320 STC Good News Bad News!
It had been a couple of weeks since I had tried the FSDO in Atlanta. Today I got some one that was helpful and she got lucky by finding an Engineer that had knowelge of the recent sale of the KWAD STC to Allen Peterson P.O. 208 Weslaco, TX 78599. They gave me a phone number 888-328-4626 that I call...
