Re: Airplane Rides - Liability
Fly as many people as you can. The memories you create for yourself and others outweigh any of the risks associated. Carry a insurance policy for liability and have at it! Can't tell you how many rides I have given over the years and I never once worried about it. Maybe I'm naive and reckless, but w...

Re: Quick drain on bottom of Fuel Selector
I was going to do this to my 170A but gave up. The plug was too messed up to allow me to remove it while installed in the airplane. I am holding off on doing it till I have to take out the fuel selector valve one day. I would think a log book entry would be fine for this one.

Re: Flexible Oil Pressure Line
Anyone put a restrictor on the fitting that leaves the case of the engine? As I was searching around the airport for a mandrel one of my friends recommended I put on a restrictor and be done with it. He told me to make one by soldering a fitting and drilling a smaller hole. Makes sense I guess.

Flexible Oil Pressure Line
Has anyone changed their copper oil pressure line out for a flexible line? I'm thinking stratoflex 311-2N hose. I did a search but couldn't find a write up on someone doing this. I found some info on the 120/140 site but not much here. I've never made a hose before, but with Skyranch out of business...

Re: This is why I own my 170!
Great pictures and welcome to the association. These are such great airplanes to haul around a family of 4.
I like the headset/helmet combination on the little one. That would take a big burden off my copilot having to constantly reach back and adjust headsets.
Thanks for posting! Mike

Re: This is why I own my 170!
I can’t say enough about the staff at the Jet Center who were more than accommodating to us. The gave us a curtesy car to go the the acquarium, fed my kids, gave them toys, and treated my airplane with respect. I felt bad when my fuel bill came in for only 15 gallons for which I actually apologized...

Re: This is why I own my 170!
Sorry....probably kind of cruel to post these pretty pictures when so many of you east coasters are up to your head in snow.
That beings said, lets see some sweet ski flying pictures or other adventures enjoyed by you folks in harsher climates that make you happy to own your 170.

This is why I own my 170!
This is why I own my 170! I flew with the family into Half Moon Bay to meet up with my sister and her husband. It was a beautiful February day in California with 70 degree temps, smooth air, and no marine layer to get in our way. My wife was smiling because I actually had my radio, transponder, inte...

Haha, don't worry she's not much of a lady. She hasn't worn pants or skirts for years!!
Back to the project.....she's looking great and I can't wait to hear of her being back in the air!!

Re: Wheel Bearings/Brake Disk
Has anyone made these felt seals? If so....anyone have a supplier for the felt? Every time I spend the money on them I feel like I could buy a sheet of felt and make a lifelong supply for a lot cheaper.
