If the auto-reset breaker still works…I’d keep it. You certainly can replace it with a common breaker OR fuse…just log it, IMO.

Auto-reset C.B.s are not expensive.

Are you certain power to it is THRU the landing light switch..? It should have it’s power supplied continuously…. not only when the land/light switch is activated. Perhaps it’s wired/sourced on the “hot” buss side of that switch?

Re: 6 Bolt Bullet Spinner?

The C-172 A,B,C models (SNs 46755 thru 49544) utilized AN8-4A bolts (undrilled) for the prop/spinner which were threaded into MS20365-820C self-locking nuts. Note the spinner assembly for those SNs. (The C170B actually used a different spinner with the original 8-bolt prop…the dome of-which was a “l...

Have you looked at the Illustrated Parts Catalog for your serial number airframe..? (Self resetting circuit breaker 2A, for the T&B and/or stall warning)

That looks like a later 172 spinner backplate and front plate…(what spruce sells for 172 A-F models).

Re: 6 Bolt Bullet Spinner?

That’ll be a magical yellow tag if it’s possible. The FAA has always condemned welded spinners in the past. (Although it was done by an Certified Aircraft Welder to my Baron spinner and it’s now been 29 years and that spinner is still spinnin’ on that Baron.) Wyoflyboy…do you have a pic? I’m trying ...

Re: Wanna' Help Save Boulder Airport (?)

ghostflyer makes a good point. I used to land at Meigs Field in the late ‘70’s/early ‘80s and it was really a good experience. …AND… it was so much better than later-on having to deal with ORD traffic/delays….and MDW lack of services and terminals that were “dumps”. The company I flew for did busine...

I have been told over and over thru the years that Developers have deep pockets and influence with local politics…. and they are almost universally liars. The three events in which I dealt with a Developer…proved that rumor to be thoroughly accurate. One of the most memorable stories involving a lyi...

Re: O-300A vs O-300D identification

It seems to me that a “seller” has an airplane with incomplete and inaccurate maintenance records….. and You or a friend might still want to buy it..? If so, be prepared to own a very questionable airplane unless you spend time and money on it to make it legal.
