Re: They just made stuff right in the 50's.
I understand Heflin. I have the Allis Chalmbers WD bought new by my maternal grandfather, the Ford 2N purchased new by my paternal grandfather, the Farmall Super MTA purchased new by my father and the Massey Ferguson 255 that I purchased new. They are much like airplanes if you take good care of the...

Re: Where to get yokes refurbished?
I was able to peal my yokes with a putty knife. The powder coating guys dont like the yokes because when they bake them they emit a gas which blows bubbles in the finish. It might help to put them thru a few bake cycles before actually putting the coating on and bakeing them. The next problem you wi...

George I am sure there is no way to get an A or B tank in a Ragwing as the 12.5 gallon tank about needs a shoe horn to install as is. Bill K

Re: Airplane Rides - Liability
I too have thought of this problem. It always seemed to me like the average liability policy fo aviation has very low limits. I have used two things to limit my exposure. One any young person that qualifies I will sign up as a young eagle regaurdless of wether or not the flight is part of an event. ...

Re: PSA: Cessna 170 / L-19 horizontal stabilizers
Bruce the dimensions on a 195 horizontal stabalizer and elevator are an exact match for my 170 I do know that the 195 has weights in the elevator which are not in the 170. It could be intersting to compare part #s sometime if someone has a 195 parts book. Bill K

One of the best places to look for ragwing parts would be the 140 web site as many wing parts are the same and many more 140s were produce. Bill K

Re: 48 fuel pressure
George if Iwas a betting man I would put my money on water in the fuel before a fuel pump issue. But not saying it could not have been a whole lot of other problems I just think water in the fuel is probably a more likly senario.

retired corporate pilot
Last week I had the pleasure of giving a ride to a man who had spent his whole life as a corporate and airforce pilot. I found it interesting that he had never flown in a tailwheel aircraft, he had never landed on grass before and never flown in a plane as old as the 170. The other interesting fact ...

inner air box seal
I am looking for the seal material which attaches to the front of the inner airbox. It is round felt wraped in a black plastic like fabric. I need to repace this and have not been able to find any info from a search here. Any suggestions? Bill K
