Re: Javelin aux fuel tank problems
Make sure you put the inline check valve in the right direction. If you put it in wrong, (the wrong direction), the fuel will not be allowed to be pumped into the wing tank. Obvious, but easy mistake, don't ask. Jon

Re: 170's @ REKLAW flyin
George, The fly-in had several crazies, alot of pedestrian traffic accross the runway as usual, but with little reguard for aircraft. I observed a Kitfox swerve on one gear to avoid people walking directly in front of it. It was Close. I had a friend who flew in from 6 hrs away, who was leaving and ...

Re: 31" bush tires on cessna 170b
Francis, I have a Lycoming 0360 narrow deck with a Hartzell 80" prop. It makes the plane a good performer, but the lighter the better. Mine is heavy, with several other mods. Look into a Sportsman STOL kit, Seems to give better slow flight characteristics, and probably let you land a little sho...

Re: 31" bush tires on cessna 170b
Seems like we are all learning as we go . I have double puck Cleveland wheels and brakes, and the 850s which were all done on FAs, along with several other FAs and STCs on my B model.

Re: 31" bush tires on cessna 170b
I have been using 850x6 retreads for years and love them. I get them from Desser. Never had one that was not in good balance, and they wear real well. I have a heavy 170B, so it is a good test for a retread. Jon

Re: Arm Rest
I have a set of arm rests from the rear of our 53B model. I didn't put them in the back because they make taking the back seat out, a real pain. As I take the back seat out quite often, I just left them out. They match the rest of the interior and it appears it might be an option for someone to use ...

Who's STC did you use for the 0-360? GREAT looking plane! Nice paint scheme. Have you had it on the gear yet, or just on floats? Jon

Re: Privately-asked questions
PMs are just that, and should NOT be reposted. The information would surely be helpful, but if one PMs someone, why would you expect to read it? Just a thought, but George has the right idea, and the correct suggestion. Just my opinion, and we know about opinions Jon

Re: DelAir Panel
I think you will find that the panels vary so much from plane to plane, pictures won't do that much for you. PM me and I will send some pictures of my panel. It is Delair, but I just got a blank upper and lower panel, layed out the panels and cut all the holes myself. The blank panels are very strai...

Re: Vibration cracks on inner coastal mounts 180hp Lyc.
I have been flying our 0360 powered 170B with a Hartzell 80" w/dampener, for over 4 years now, with no problems and no cracking, other than the typical crack at the bottom corner of the cowl found in alot of the 170s and 172s. This crack, by the way was there in the cowl when we bought it with ...

Re: OT- HOT in Texas!
I had my outside unit quit about 1 month ago. It was 97 degrees out . My partner in my plane , Gordon, (George, you should remember Gordon), came over, took out his trusty elecrtrical tester, and said , it's the condenser. He went to his truck and got 2 smaller condensers, (the one that was bad was ...

Re: "Wing Tent"
I believe Wag-Aero used to make wing tents for their planes as well as Piper aircraft and others. I don't recall if they made them for 170s or not. Seems like they called them a wag bag or something like that, Been a long time since I have seen them advertised. They were made to slip over the wing, ...

Re: Alaska Bush Wheels
Contact Bill or Wup at Alaska Bush Wheel. They are the experts. Wup recomended the 29" for us if we decided to go with the larger bush wheels, (not the 31"). They know their buisness, and are honest and forthright with their knowledge and experience. They also are in contact with the pilot...
