Richard,
Thank you for your response and great picture! What a clean looking bird! I have ordered the new seals from McFarland and hope to have it installed once I am back from vacation! All the tips are greatly welcome and should help me ensure a great install.
Thank you again,
Matthew

Re: Baffling Baffle Seals
George, An earlier post by you alerted me to the issue of my baffle seals blowing backwards, so thank you! Funny how you just take things as "normal" when that is how you find them. I had to go back and look at my photos and realized, wow - that is concerning that the rivets could be rubbi...

Re: Baffling Baffle Seals
Eskflyer, Thank you. I will have to look back at the logs for the type of paint, as it was before my time. A previous owner had the engine painted blue at overhaul. Ironically, the hottest running cylinder (#2) is not painted as it was replaced at about 400 hrs. Most likely due to running hot. She d...

Baffling Baffle Seals
Howdy All. I have two questions for the group as I am about to be replacing my rear baffle seals that seem a bit too short and keep flipping backwards and allowing air to escape without going through my rear cylinders. The two sections of baffle seals that coincide with both access hatches is bent b...

Re: Four point harness for the rear seats of a 170B
Gary, Thank you for the description and part numbers. I am going to run everything by my A&P and hopefully get 53A up inter air again. She has been in the shop getting a few upgrades and repairs and I thought it was a good time to address the seatbelts. While front and back are serviceable and i...

Re: Four point harness for the ear seats of a 170B
Gary, Thank you for the pictures and explanation. I was hoping to use the factory attach points and did not know what all the Cessna kit came with besides the belts and mounting hardware. I have seen an offering from B.A.S. at about $450 per seat. I am guessing the higher price covers the STC and re...

Four point harness for the rear seats of a 170B
Howdy,
I have been trying to find information on upgrading the rear lap belts in my 53 170B to a fixed four point system, but only seem to find SK170-12C3 which is a 3 point system. Has anyone had luck installing a four point to the rear seats? Thank you in advance, Matthew

Re: How to make springs
For those as talented as Indopilot, here is what the spring looks like: http://cessna170.org/forums/download/file.php?id=586&mode=view Howdy, I know this is an old post, but the cost of H-5000-2 latches just keeps going up. Has anyone measured out the specs for the spring on the latch? It seems...
