Posting these for Kyle along with excerpts from his email... I had gotten really tired of damaging the plane taking the seat in and out. So, based upon some ideas from the association, and a few of my own we made the following modifications. Rear cabin door post trim plate. We added a thin stainless...

I can remember sniffing the can of MMO my Dad had in the shop when I was five... always liked that smell... maybe that accounts for my present fringe-like condition...

It was a real good demonstration of hull speed if that term applies to airplanes as well as boats. Reminded me of a tug boat, it doesn't matter how much horsepower you put in one, it's not going any faster. An extreme example of the opposite would be the Cassutt Formula 1 racer that can do over 200...

Prestige Aircraft in Swanton, VT (http://www.paintaircraft.com/ )

They did '82A and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Great job and real nice folks. Although, it's a long way for you to go for just a baggage door. 8)

Re: Panel layout question

Chris, I assume that is the airspeed indicator below the d.g. Is there not enough room behind the panel for the CDI in that space? I'm hoping to do a similar layout but wonder if I'll have enough room for a CDI in the lower center spot with the yoke all the way back. Gary Before I did the refurb on...

Doug, The panel overlay (that covers the seven main instruments) Yep, that's what I meant. Thanks for the description. I'm hoping to have a project of my own one of these days. Dave Well... pick a good one. Everything you hear about uncovering other problems as you get into the project is true. Abo...

Wow... thanks for all the complements everyone. It sure does feel good being behind that panel again. DaveF, not sure which "upper part" you are referring to... The panel overlay (that covers the seven main instruments) is a part I picked up from an online auction. I had bought a couple an...

Yes, I had them repainted. The old plastic-like coating (that was covered by auto steering wheel cover) was really beat and chipped. I wanted an offsetting color for the controls so the color scheme worked out like this: Main panel and instrument bezels: Light Ivory (same as the exterior base color ...

Thanks Dick. However, I can't take full credit for it. The layout and paint scheme/colors is mine and I scrounged 95% of the parts, but the actual panel work was done by my mechanic and the paint, of course, was done at the paint shop. I wish I had been more involved in it, but the shop was 90 minut...

Hi Mark, I bought it in Dec. '99 and it had a different paint scheme at the time. I went through a major refurb. in 2004 which included repainting it as it is today. I haven't been back to Fulton Co. since I bought it... no real reason other than my travels haven't taken me there. I'd be happy to dr...
